St. Thomas Historical Trust Museum
Located at 5332 Raadets Gade
between Main Street and the Waterfront.
Our Museum is currently open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10am-2pm, and on Saturday from 11am-3pm. Admission is free, but donations help to keep the museum open.
You will be guided by a Historical Trust volunteer. The Trust has a small library of rare and unique materials donated over the years, which are cataloged here. You are welcome to browse this collection at your leisure.
Additionally, a small number of books are available online for free. The website includes links to the Internet Archive, Google Books and Project Gutenberg, which host books in the public domain and make them accessible online.
If you find anything of particular interest, you are welcome to come to the museum to read or study it. Please note that we are not a "lending library," so we kindly request that all reading be done in the museum.
Moreover, we invite you to explore our small collection of memorabilia, art and souveniers available for purchase.
Currently on display at the museum are collections of West Indian art and antiques, some pieces dating back to the 1600’s. There are many photographs and paintings of historical sites on
St. Thomas and Hassel Island. Also displayed are artifacts recovered from shipwrecks in
Charlotte Amalie harbor and from archaeological excavations around the island.
We receive new donations and loans from both Trust members, and passionate individuals on a regular basis. Check in with us to see what’s new!
